Ripped Off

I'm in Timbuktu now. So far not a pleasant holiday though. Been ripped of twice for 2 days on my holidays *be te abies*

First case, I was about to have dinner at Som Boon Seafood at Surrawong, actually I've tried the one in Pathumwan 2 weeks ago, and nothing spectacular. Being curious, I wanted to try this branch. It was raining and traffic jam (yupe, what can you expect from Bangkok?), and the restaurant was closed for annual holiday.

The taxi driver said,"I'll bring you to Silom Seafood". As I was having appointment with my friends to meet at Som Boon Seafood at Surrawong, I thought ok lah, I'd promised to bring them for dinner anyway. But the taxi driver was not to helpfull to relay the message to my friends' taxi driver.

So I thought when I arrived at the restaurant, I'll asked the restaurant people to speak to my friends' taxi driver, which happened as per my expectation. But when I arrived in that restaurant I smelled something not right, as I was forced to choose the seafood from the entrance, but as I was tired of the traffc jam, I just choosed accrodingly.

I ended up paying 8000 Baht for the stupid dinner, whereby the crab was overcooked, the Cuttlefish also overcooked, luckily the steamed fish, baked lobster, tom yam goong and veggie were nice...But what the $^%^%$#$$%^$##^^! 8000 baht in that restaurant *bah*

The second ripped off was this afternoon, on the way to BITEC, I've checked from the website, we could take BTS (Sky train) to On Nut Station and there would be shuttle bus taking people to BITEC.

Arrving in On Nut, I followed direction, but there is no sign of the bus, tried to stop a few taxis they didn't know about it *sigh* Finally found 1 stupid taxi, said yes, then asked whether i would like to take expressway, which I answered,"whatever" then I realised the driver was heading back to town, and I stopped him in the middle of highway, and pointing to my destination again. Which he pointed another destination *mo maraaaahhhh gag siyyyy?*

Finally he says,"Oh okay I know, but looked like he still continued his journey to town anyway. I thought I''d get down anywhere he stopped, then I found out that actually he was trying to earn more money from me, by going around the city highway, which of course no doubt, very bad traffic *siap2 golok*

So after a long wait while trying to calm my self down, I saw something look like exhibition hall, but my thought it would probably be Bangkok Convention Centre, which luckily turn out to be BITEC *gondok abies*

But frankly speaking Thai Taxi driver is worse than Jakarta, even though some are very nice, but they will be able to refuse to take you to certain destination *sigh* and tried to bring you for a joy ride, before reaching destination, just to earn extra money *sebel*

Oh my God, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day...

Substitute

After my come back to the coffee world *blush* even though not a full blast come back, I decided to stop again.
Well, the crave still there, and I've been trying to find substitute for my crave, but to no avail.
Milo ----> too milky
Tea ----> bought from the canteen downstairs taste yucky
Decaf coffee ----> tasteless

OMG the crave is coming again *sigh*
BTW quiz of the day, yesterday posting was "Subtitle", today posting is "Substitute", the question is,"What am i going to post tomorrow?" wakakakakka....

Subtitle

I always get distracted with subtitles. No matter how long I've been away from Indonesia, every time I watch a programme, be it movies in the cinema or just a normal show in the TV, if there is subtitle available, no matter English, Indonesian or Malay (unless Chinese lah of course...can't read mah :P), I'll focus to read the subtitle instead of hearing direct from the show *frustated*
I always wonder why am I so bloody damn lazy? Do you experience the same problem?

Hospital (Again)

Due to a very heavy work loads these pas few weeks, on Wednesday nite, I rushed my self to the hospital again *sigh* Actually I was trying to fight for the whole day, as I was thinking, anyway I'd be seeing my cardiologist on Thursday.
But I couldn't take it anymore, so I decided to left office and rushed to the A&E department. Arriving there, I still tried to compose my self before I got out from the car, hoping that I'd get better, to find that my condition worsened.
Having no choice, I turned my self in, based on first round diagnosed, everything is normal (as usual), but my hand and foot started to tremble, and the doctor also witnessed, so he asked me to go for ECG, which also turned out to be normal.
Let's gossip *teteup*, when I was there, there was this auntie (let's call her auntie lah, middle age woman, which is very slim and looks like she get nose job as well) waking in with the blood flowing from her leg. Not a heavy flow, but I just think she purposedly to exagerate the things, by not wiping off the blood from her wound, just below her knee.
Then I heard she was talking to the husband,"Eh can you ask the nurse whether I need a plastic surgeon or not".
Still not believing my ears, I tried to eavesdrop again when the husband talking to the nurse,"Nurse, can I check with you, does my wife need a plasic surgeon or not?"
*gubraks*
Her wound only the size of "upil", and excuse me? Plastic surgeon? *gubraks lagi*But anyway...she is just a vain auntie...
Happy week end everyone...

Bad Experience with Holiday Inn

On January I booked hotel stays for Chinese New Year periods through Priority Club Member website, and received the acknowledgement email automatically from the system.
End of January, I tried to make amendment to my initial bookings through the website again, but I couldn't do so. I called their customer service number 1800-787-1221 to modify my bookings.
To play safe, a few days before I left for my trips, I double checked my email, to my surprised I found out that the price had changed from the original price, that I got from the automated email confirmation.
I called the customer service again, to clarify about this matter, and it became even worse, I triple booked the room after I spoke to the guy, I tried to call back, but spoke to different officer, had to repeat all over again, which is very tiring *sigh* finally he said he would transferred me to the first guy, then the line cut off #%^$#$#%^&&***
I was tired, but I still tried to call but because it was night in Australia, so I thought it must had been the staff from UK who answered my called this time. Tired of explaining, I was thinking to call again the next day which is only a few hours before I left, I had to explain all over again *deep sigh* then I asked is there any guest relation officer numer that I could call to clarify this matter. He gave a number, but I couldn't get through.
So Icalled back the same number and asked to be transferred to guest relation officer, but this time this girl by the name of Christine, insisted that she would try to solve my problems. There I goes again repeating the very long winded history of my booking...and she said I should call Hongkong to clarify, which I found very ridiculuous.
They have 1800 number, which is free, but yet they couldn't solve my problem. The point is why should I incure the cost of International call for the mistake that I didn't commit.
I still insisted to be transferred to her manager or guest relationship officer, but she also insisted that she wouldn't do so.
I also asked for explanation how could this things happened, and she just simply said, it's human error, which I found it's very ridiculous.
On the other hand I also tried my best to book rooms in another hotel, but I couldn't find any. Can you imagine, I was about to go holiday with my parents, without any assurance about the reservation and I'm only about a few hours away to catch my plane.
I did try to drop a few messages through their websites as well about this things, but I've never received any apology or acknowledgement, or anything from their side.
Finally, I did left a comment to the hotel which I stayed in Hong Kong, the manager of Hong Kong hotel sent me an apology email, and said that this matter he had to forward to his head quarter, but until this moment I haven't heard anything at all from their head quarter.
Don't you think it's damn ridiculous? Holiday Inn, which has a lots of hotel in every country could have this level of customer service?
Of course I swear that I won't stay in Holiday Inn anymore, I just think, well it's not my class anyway....with a couple of dollar more, you could stay in Hyatt, Marriott or even Westin...why should I spend my money for this type of bad customer service..
I wonder how they could they win the freddie award with such a bad attitude....
Moral of the story, don't waste your time with Holiday Inn, stay somewhere else....
Meanwhile...I want to go to timbuktu...for sure I don't stay in Holiday Inn this time

sakaaaaauuwwwwww

Yellow everybody *nyengir* Thank you for missing me so much *pe de abies* I think I'm under cursed or something, because I can't login to blogger through my pc in the office *be te* Meanwhile I've sworn that I won't log into the computer at home, unless unavoidable, eg. for playing online game *lohhhh????*
Well, now I'm using the other pc in the next room though...so I have a chance to update my blog...yeah yeah it's only next room, but you know laziness speak louder than walking to the other room *nyari alasaaaaaannn*
Anyway, I've quit drinking coffee for quite sometime, even though sometimes I could have withdrawal symtom, which usually I compromise by trying to get decaf coffee, even though I know it tastes sucks...
Until last year I guess, I was in Hero Supermarket (Jakarta of course..), and passed by the coffee and tea row. I started to take Teh Botol, Teh 2 Tangs tea leaves (well Indonesian jasmine tea, emang kaga ada matinye cink....., and without realising I also took some Kopi Kapal Api and put into my shopping basket *bukan ngutil lah yauuuuuuuuu*
So when I sniffed the Kopi Kapal Api, suddenly all my safe guard loosen up, so I get hooked again to coffee, even though I complaint the 3 in 1 version was too sweet, and regardless I would get worse palpitation after I drink coffee, especially Indonesian Coffee, which could make my palpitation to the extend that I couldn't breathe. But for Kopi Kapal Api, my suffering is worth, but not other coffee though...
Some more...there is one of my beloved supplier *ngelirik cika* who always brought me back Kopi Kapal Api (alias barang laknat) everytime she goes back to Indonesia. I don't know which one I love more, Cika or Kopi Kapal Api *mulai ngelantur*
I've been drinking Kapal Api once a day for quite sometimes, and right now I'm craving liaoooooooo......OMG sakaaaauuuwwww booooooo.....
By the way...I keep mentioning Kapal Api how many time ya? Hmmm I think I should call somebody to ask for endorsement *wicked smile* and if you were that somebody...pleaseeee endorse me yaaaaa or if not....mmmm I know your secret though *ngancem* or if one of you happened to be connected to Hero Supermarket or Teh Botol or Teh 2 Tang, I also don't mind to be endorsed loh.....wakakakakkakakkakka.........
Keto'e aku beneran sakaaaauuuw yo? *blush*
But actually moral of the story I love Indonesia so muuuucccchhhh geto loh....*ngeles*

Bo Ceng Li

It's not about that tenor singer, that one is Andrea Bocelli *plesetan*
Bo Ceng Li means mmm what ya....let me think, mmm not fair....
My recept told me that she met the uncle bo kam guan (=don't want to lose or he always to be number one), my office neighbour with weird behaviour itu lohhh... when she came back from buying lunch.
She said the uncle was talking to his staff saying in Chinese, but let me translate lah ya...
Uncle,"I gave you 1 week holiday for Chinese New Year so I'll deduct your leave or if you don't have any leave left, I'll deduct your pay!"
Well...well...sounds familiar huh? Just like cuti massal (=mass leaves) during Hari Raya in Indonesia...mmm so far I understand that in Singapore there is no such thing as company close for Chinese New Year, then the boss will deduct the leave...this is the first time I heard about that.
Well...he might be influenced by his brother, that has a company in Batam, whereby he supplies all the goods to.
Being wicked, I told my recept,"Eh why don't you said 'My boss doesn't do that leh' in front of them?"
wakakkakakakkaka........tanduk guwe keluar euyyyy

My Heart Cry

Hmmm sounds very melodrama ya? *blush*
By the way, I'm in Hong Kong now, and the hotel provided free internet access from the room, and I bring my laptop with me *yuupppeeeee* So my hands are of course very itchy, want to update my blog, but of course no time for blogwalking....busy bowwwww.... *alasan*
Anyway yesterday, it's been always my ritual to visit this restaurant, by the name of Tay Ping Koon, every time I visited Hong Kong. It's a very old western restaurant, and all the waiters are old uncle as old as my dad, or may be a bit younger.
Tay Ping Koon, always been frequented by the high level of Hong Kong-ers, which you can see from their look and manner. By the way I found this restaurant from the guide to Hong Kong from Femina magazine (Indonesian famous female magazine). The price quite reasonable though...
I was sitting in the corner the most inside, while I was doing people watching, there it was on the other corner, one elderly gentleman, much more older than my dad, sitting by him self, with a straight body, dressed up in a very neat coat and tie.
He gave all the waiter the hong bao (=red packet), and he seemed quite famous there. I didn't know, what's going inside my heart, but my heart started to cry when I saw him. His so well behaved, must be from the very very rich family, but yet there he was sitting by him self, even though he looks quite fragile *sigh*
That situation made me lose my appetite *sigh*
Is it sign of aging? I'm not easily cry with certain occasion, but now my heart become so fragile and soft *sigh* What's happening nah? *Thai Accent*

Tajirr...Bowww

I've already mentioned in a few last postings about how annoying the telemarketer in Singapore is. Nah, a few days ago, I received one call.
She,"Good afternoon may I speak to Flona, please?"
Me,"Yes, speaking".
She,"Oh Hi Ms Flona, my name is XXXXXXX, and I'm calling on behalf of Standard Chartered Bank. I would like to share something to you bla....bla..bla.. (very long, I couldn't get it what she says anyway).....then I have this special offer for you, a Personal loan with a very low interest rate, how does it sound ms Flona?"
Me,"Ouw, thanks for your special offer, I'm not interested in it.."
I hadn't had a chance to finish my line then she cut me off,"Oh, why? It has a very low interest rate..."My blood started to boil and I cut her off also but with a calm tone,"Well, I have ABUNDANCE of MONEY, why should I take your loan?"She answered with a pissed off voice,"Oh Good for you then, good luck.."
I politely answered,"Thanks for your offer..and Happy Chinese New Year"
She hung up...
ABUNDANCE of MONEY? wakakakkakka....tajir bowwww....Amien deh Amien....
Money sih I have, but Abundance...well..if Indonesian Rupiah, have a few millions lah...but Singapore Dollar...weleh....still looking for a spoonful of rice a a big bowl of diamond lah yau...
Anyway wanted to wish you who celebrate a Happy Prosperous Chinese New Year, may you'll be granted with a good health, bright future, and ABUNDANCE of MONEY *wicked smile*
But even though you're not celebrating, no harm to wish you all those wish, just say Amien...May God grant our wish, ya gak? *wink*
Oh ya....I'm in Timbuktu now...and I forgot to bring my handphone...so sorry if I ccan't reply to your sms or attending your call....

V Days

Happy V days everyone, seems that today is the cash cows day for most of the Hotel and F&B industry, and also retail business.
I feel that every special day is getting more commersial as the year passed by, no meaning of celebrating the occasion anymore *be te*
I read in the newspaper the price of Valentine package is getting even crazier each year *sigh* but anyway I'm not going to buy or do anything mah...Valentine's day is just another day, rite? nothing special...
Meanwhile I've been burnt with my workloads *sob sob*
Anyway Happy valentine's day for you all *hugs*

Latest News, Anna Nicole Smith has died boooo *shocked* And because of that it's very hard for me to access my yahoo mail...I think everybody is rushing to yahoo website to read about it *sebel*
Anyway, I was in China Embassy for 2 days to apply visa, yeah I'm going to China again, but this time please pray for me, hope the last incident wouldn't be happened, coz i'll be going with my parents *ngelap keringet*
Being 2 days in the embassy, i witnessed a lot of funny, weird and unique behaviour.
The highest rating is happened during writing down my particular in the application form. There next to me stood a Singaporean lady, accompanied by her friend, which i assumed is a gay.
So the lady asked the friend,"Aiyoh why so troublesome have to fill up so many question?"
Friend,"Aiyah just fill up accordingly lah".
Lady,"Name?"
Friend,"Of course write down your name lah, you think what? write down my name meh?"
I was about to laugh, but anyway not polite mah....
Lady,"Wah got write down chinese name some more.."
Friend,"You're Chinese what! You can just jot down your Chinese name in Chinese Character".
It was even harder for me to hold my laugh *sigh*
Lady,"Handphone number, okaylah....but home number? Aiyoh I don't have phone at my home, how?"
Friend,"Aiyoh at era where got people use their home phone anymore? So outdated meh? Just leave it balnk lah.."
Lady,"Purpose of visit? Aiyoh why they have to make things difficult, so kay poh (=busy body) meh, til I have to write down purpose of visit?"
Friend,"Just said visiting your mistress there lah, they are famous what!"
Wah it was really hard for me to hold my laughter *sigh*

Competition

My parents are here. So there is the competition in having the right to see which programmes *sigh*
Frankly speaking, I'm not a TV person, I'm more to radio person, but then there are some programmes that I like to watch, Indonesian Infotainment (if I didn't forget about it, but most of the times I always forget *blush*) in the morning, and Makan King 2, and I don't know what else lah....
Anyway the Indonesian infortainment I watch it in the morning during my brekkie time, but then, my father like to watch the TVRI at that time, which doing some English lesson *sigh*
So every morning, I tried my best to occupied the tv first (but I always lose *sad*, an even though I win, then my dad will easily said,"Mana remotenya?" then change to TVRI *gondok*).
Last friday, finally I managed to occupy the TV first, but in the middle of the infotainment, my dad said,"Mana remotenya?"
Reluctantly I gave the remote to my Dad, but luckily when he turned to TVRI, hoooraaaayyyyy....no lesson on Friday, so he was dissapointedly returned the remote to me *lompat2*
Actually, when my parents not here I also seldom see the infotainment kok, may be the competition that give me "the kick" in competition kali yak? *senyum manis*
